  13.  This is the third Aminet release of the FilterDesigner.
  14.  The program designs optimized Finite Impulse Response
  15.  (FIR) Filters. 
  16.  
  17.  OS 2.x is required. The program requires a minimum
  18.  Workbench screen size of 640x400.
  19.  
  20.  The FIR Filters designed by the program FIR Filter Designer
  21.  can be loaded by the program AudioLab16 from Maurizio Ciccione.
  22.  AudioLab16 can be found on the Aminet in the directory /mus/edit.

  24.  The problem of designing finite impulse response (FIR) digital
  25.  filters experienced great activity in the early 1970`s. Most of
  26.  this work was directed at the problem of optimal filter design,
  27.  in the weighted Chebyshev sense. The algorithm for this program,
  28.  by McClellan, Parks and Rabiner, will design the optimal Chebyshev
  29.  approximation for linear phase filters. The Chebyshev optimization
  30.  is done very efficiently by means of the Remez exchange algorithm,
  31.  and this particular FIR filter design program has found wide use.
